Opus Plasma Skin Resurfacing

Improved skin texture and tone, resulting in a more youthful look

At MidSouth Integrative Aesthetics, we offer skin resurfacing and rejuvenation with Opus Plasma. Did you know that we lose 1% of our natural collagen production every year after we turn 20? Opus Plasma stimulates our natural collagen production to reverse this loss and rejuvenate our skin from the inside out!

This non-surgical treatment uses fractionated plasma energy to deliver effects similar to a deep resurfacing treatment with less pain and a fraction of the downtime. It is designed for individuals who desire improved skin texture and tone resulting in a more youthful look. Opus successfully addresses a wide range of skin concerns for patients of all skin tones with minimal downtime.

What is Opus Plasma skin resurfacing?

Opus Plasma is a first of its kind non invasive skin resurfacing procedure that merges radiofrequency (RF) energy with plasma technology. This cutting-edge treatment creates small micro-injuries to the skin, stimulating the body’s natural healing process to promote a more youthful and healthy appearance.

Opus Plasma offers a highly customizable approach, targeting the skin at varying depths. Whether seeking mild rejuvenation or deeper resurfacing, Opus treatments provide exceptional results without the prolonged recovery associated with other skin resurfacing treatments.

Opus is safe for all skin types, even dark skin. Many skin resurfacing treatments carry a risk of hypo or hyperpigmentation for deeper skin tones, but Opus Plasma has been cleared for Fitzpatrick types I through V.

Opus is an available add on to extend the life of your Botox. It helps to enhance the effects of Botox treatments by stimulating your natural collagen production. The benefits of Opus Plasma in extending the lifespan of Botox are influenced by individual characteristics such as skin type, severity of lines/wrinkles and the settings used on the machine.

How does Opus Plasma work?

Opus Plasma uses fractional plasma energy to target and rejuvenate the skin’s upper layers while promoting collagen production deep within. This technique utilizes a handheld device that emits controlled plasma energy, creating micro-injuries on the skin. These tiny injuries activate the body’s natural healing process, leading to smoother, firmer, and more youthful skin.

A notable advantage of Opus Plasma is its ability to adjust the treatment’s intensity according to your specific skin concerns. Whether you require light exfoliation or more aggressive resurfacing, our experienced medical providers at MidSouth Integrative Aesthetics can customize the procedure to meet your beauty goals.

There are 3 different tips used with Opus to target your specific needs.

  • Glide: This tip delivers dermal ablation with a unique, in-motion technique. It creates a grid of tiny microchannels as the provider “glides” the tip over your skin. It is used for full-face and larger-area resurfacing. It is ideal for improving skin laxity, uneven tone, and fine lines.
  • Focus: This tip is a precise, controlled source of heat that uses thermal coagulation techniques. It is ideal for scars, deeper stretch marks, and severe lines and wrinkles.
  • Collibri: This tip is a high-power solution to treat fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth. It is a non-surgical option for an eyelift.

Opus Plasma treatments can also be used to enhance Botox results by stimulating collagen production. Talk to your provider for more details on how these treatments can work together for long-lasting, youthful skin.

Am I a good candidate for Opus Plasma?

Opus treatments are a good choice for individuals seeking significant and visible enhancements in their skin texture and appearance, all while avoiding invasive procedures that often come with longer recovery times. This treatment is suitable for the following:

  • Adults experiencing signs of aging, such as sagging skin and wrinkles
  • Individuals with acne scars, dull skin tone, or hyperpigmentation
  • Those who want a non-surgical skin resurfacing option with minimal downtime
  • Anyone seeking radiant, healthy skin with long-lasting results

If you  want to address unwanted pigmentation or acne scarring, Opus can be very beneficial. If you are experiencing loose and sagging skin from the natural aging process, Opus Plasma also provides solutions to address fine to moderate wrinkles and can improve the texture around the orbital eye area.

How many treatments will I need?

Our patients are getting noticeable results as soon as the first treatment! We do recommend a package of 3 treatments for optimal results. The results of this treatment are permanent, however the natural aging process continues to occur so we do recommend a yearly maintenance treatment to keep your skin looking its best!

What to expect during your treatment

Your session for Opus Plasma treatment starts with a consultation to discuss your skin concerns. A numbing cream is used to ensure minimal discomfort during the procedure, and the Opus device is gently moved over the targeted areas.

  • Treatment Duration: Sessions generally take 30-45 minutes, depending on the treatment area.
  • Recovery: Most patients experience mild redness and swelling, similar to a sunburn, for 1-3 days. Unlike traditional laser treatments, downtime is minimal, and most people can return to normal activities within a day.
  • Results: You’ll begin to notice improved skin tone and texture within a few days to a few weeks.  The effects of the treatment continue improving as collagen continues to rebuild for up to a year!

Treatment areas

Opus Plasma is incredibly adaptable and capable of addressing different facial and body regions, offering focused solutions for particular skin issues. Here is a list of the treatment areas that benefit from Opus Plasma:

  • Face: Opus Plasma works exceptionally well on the face to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, and uneven skin texture. It can address delicate areas such as under the eyes, crow’s feet, and around the mouth where aging is most noticeable.
  • Hands: Opus treatments can reverse the signs of aging on the hands, such as age spots and thinning skin.
  • Neck: Treat sagging skin and horizontal lines on the neck for a firmer, rejuvenated appearance.
  • Body: Target stretch marks, scars, or skin laxity on areas like the abdomen, arms, and thighs to achieve firmer, smoother skin.

Regardless of the treatment area, Opus Plasma treatments provide reliable results, enhancing skin texture, elasticity, and tone for both the face and body.
